My husband is a grown man, who is so smart and funny, and a great dad, but he never buys himself clothes or basics (like new underwear, t-shirts, or socks). And because I’m, like, a really great wife who shops for a living, I’m always ready to step up and buy him what he needs. But, just because he doesn't care about fashion, that doesn't mean my husband will wear just anything. When it comes to underwear, he's super picky (understandably), and I've found that he'll only wear boxer briefs from the brand Pair of Thieves (available at Amazon, Target, and on the brand's website). Here's how I picked out the underwear and why I keep buying it. See ya, tighty whities.
Why My Husband (and I) Love Pair of Thieves Underwear
Basically, it checks all the boxes. The length is perfect (he likes a boxer brief that's not too long or too short), there's lots of breathability options (including quick-drying varieties), it's smooth over his waist (no rolling up), and it doesn't break the bank. He looks good and feels good. Plus, there are lots of fun print and solid color options for even the pickiest of wearers.
So, if you're buying boxer brief underwear for yourself (or to gift a loved one or partner), I've provided some different styles from Pair of Thieves below, from super soft to super cooling to an everyday go-to. Plus, they all come with glowing reviews from other satisfied users (besides my husband). Your underwear drawer can breathe a sigh of relief.
Shop the Underwear My Husband Loves
It's hard to go wrong with this everyday basic 4-pack of boxer briefs. They're breathable with some stretch, the perfect length, and come out to about $4/pair (plus there's a fly seam). Featured here is a lighter color variety, but I've also linked to some darker colors, as well.
- Available Sizes: Small to 2X-Large
- Available Colors: 1
- One PoT Shopper Says: "I have most styles POT make, but these are truly my every days. Plenty soft, can't beat the price."
A Smoothing 2-Pack That Feels Like You're Wearing Nothing at All
According to the Pair of Thieves website, this underwear may feel like "your junk is resting on a cloud." This 2-pack is great for the gym or anytime there's going to be some movement involved. There's a fly seam, the waistband won't roll, and there's plenty of stretch.
- Available Sizes: Small to 4X-Large
- Available Colors: 7 (but differs amongst sellers)
- One PoT Shopper Says: "These fit so well and are so soft it feels like I am not wearing underwear. It’s amazing!!!!!"
The Quick-Drying Option for When It Gets Sweaty
When sweat is going to get involved, this quick-drying 3-pack is what you want. There's moisture control tech to wick away the sweat and there's a hidden, functional fly. It won't ride up and will make sure everything stays cool and dry, no matter what.
- Available Sizes: X-Small to 4X-Large (but differs amongst sellers)
- Available Colors: 6 (but differs amongst sellers)
- One PoT Shopper Says: "These fit so well and are so soft it feels like I am not wearing underwear. It’s amazing!!!!!"
A Pair of Super Soft Boxer Briefs
If softness is what you're looking for, your search has ended. These boxer briefs are super soft, breathable, and stretchy. Plus, there's a fly opening and no-chafe seams for ultimate comfort.
- Available Sizes: Small to 4X-Large (but differs amongst sellers)
- Available Colors: 4 (but differs amongst sellers)
- One PoT Shopper Says: "Such a good purchase! Pair of Thieves underwear is literally the most comfortable and best fitting underwear I've purchased. I can't get enough of it. And somehow, it still provides really good support below the belt!"
A Pair of Super Long & Cooling Boxer Briefs
If you're looking for a longer boxer brief style, then these SuperCool options are a great fit. According to Pair of Thieves, it's "like A/C for your junk." There are zoned air vents, a contoured cooling pouch, and sweat-wicking, to keep everything easy breezy. You won't find a fly seam, but you get that great fit and no-roll waistband.
- Available Sizes: Small to 4X-Large (but differs amongst sellers)
- Available Colors: 2 (but differs amongst sellers)
- One PoT Shopper Says: "I love these so I got the long ones to add to the boxer briefs collection. These guys are tight and comfortable and the long ones make the legs look real good."
What I'm Looking for When I Shop For My Husband's Underwear
- Fit: When it comes to underwear, my husband is very picky about the cut and how it fits him. He prefers boxer briefs, but they have to be the perfect length (not too long and not too short). But, Pair of Thieves also includes briefs, extra long boxers, and traditional boxers with sizing up to 4XL.
- Breathability: Comfort is key (pants can get warm). And what goes with that, is breathability. I keep an eye out for a cotton blend, and a little bit of spandex for stretch. And if you're looking for a quick-drying option (perfect for the gym bag), consider sweat-wicking polyester. Pair of Thieves has both these options.
- Price: I'm a fan of multipacks (because, duh, less laundry), so the amount I spend depends on how many pairs of undies are in the pack. I generally don't like to spend more than $14 per pair, so luckily, Pair of Thieves falls right in my budget.
