Tarek El Moussa is ready to flip the narrative.
The Flip or Flop alum is getting honest about the difficult chapters of his past in his upcoming book Flip Your Life, out on Feb. 6, 2024, according to a press release.
Tarek—who was first diagnosed with Stage 2 thyroid cancer in 2013—will open up about his health issues that led to his addiction to steroids, as well as his divorce from Christina Hall, which was finalized in 2018 after eight years of marriage.
"Tarek sheds light for the first time on pivotal moments in his life," reads a synopsis, "from the very early days of his real estate career, including tremendous financial highs followed by devastating lows, filming Flip or Flop with his ex-wife Christina, to his earth-shattering bouts with thyroid and testicular cancer, a crippling back injury, his subsequent addiction to steroids, and his long and hard-earned path to recovery."
As the reality star put it in a video on social media this week, "I had two beautiful children and I thought I was at the peak of my game until I was diagnosed with two different cancers and going through a very public divorce."
Following his split with Christina—the mother of his kids Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 8—Tarek went on to marry Heather Rae Young in October 2021. Tarek and the Selling Sunset star—who has admitted to the "ups and downs" of co-parenting with Christina—expanded their blended family in February with the arrival of baby boy Tristan, while Christina married Josh Hall in Hawaii last year.
And the highs and lows of his personal life will certainly be part of Flip Your Life.
"I share my entire journey and all of the struggles that have accompanied it," Tarek wrote on Instagram Sept. 21. "I put my heart and soul into this book and got really vulnerable with it, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it."
Before his book hits shelves, get a glimpse into his dad life with Heather and son Tristan in photos here:
"First ever Easter with our bunny," Heather wrote on Instagram as her baby boy wore Janie and Jack. "Tristan's loving it so far and as if it couldn't get any cuter… look at his outfits."
Heather marked Tristan's first month with a cute photo shoot.
Referencing their shared initials, Tarek captioned this father-son picture: "Two T's in a pod."
Reflecting on her baby's first month, Heather shared, "Last day of February and it's been a month of love, mamahood adjustments, work days from home, breastfeeding ups & downs, the best newborn snuggles, sleepless nights & lots and lots of family time."
Celebrating Tristan's 2-week-old milestone, Heather captioned this sweet mother-son portrait, "Baby Tristan Jay… the obsession is real. my little love."
"It's love week and we're definitely feeling it over here," Heather wrote on Instagram a day before Valentine's Day 2023. "Lots and lots of kissing, snuggling, skin on skin, and holding our lover boy… we can't get enough."
The Selling Sunset star joked that she's been in "mama hibernation mode" after welcoming Tristan.
Posting a picture of Tristan wearing a top reading "New to the El Moussa Crew," Heather wrote, "Mom life is staring at him non stop because I can't get enough. The moment I held him in my arms he became my world."
Tarek wrote alongside a photo of his older children with ex-wife Christina Haack: "OMG….I have 3 kids!!!! How did this happen?"
According to the couple, Tristan was born on Jan. 31, 2023, at 6:55 a.m. PT. He arrived weighing 7 lbs., 7 oz.
"Our baby boy is here," Heather and Tarek shared while announcing Tristan's arrival. "Mama & baby are happy, healthy, tired but doing well. Our hearts are so happy."
